Condition

Overall in very good condition. With some small and minute air bubble and particulate inclusions, and with a few minute open air bubbles, all inherent in the making and not at all visually detracting. There is an extraneous internal white thread of glass on the shoulder extending to the rim (visible in the catalogue illustration) which is inherent in the making and not at all visually detracting. The exterior with some light surfaces scratches, most prevalent along the outermost contours of the shoulder. The midsection of the body with a minute superficial fleck (approximately 1/16 inch) which appears on the exterior surface and does not have depth through the glass. With light surface soiling to the lower interior of the vase. The interior is beautifully iridized, imparting the vase with strong luminosity and visual depth. An outstanding example of Tiffany's paperweight technique distinguished by its impressive scale, unusual dynamic form, highly artistic decoration and strong coloration. When viewed with strong reflected light the abstract autumnal leaves appear in tones of deep russet red against a rich purple and luminous gold ground. The sinuous trailing vines heighten the sense of visual movement and are articulated in elegant hues of chartreuse and russet red.
