Condition

Overall in very good condition. With a few minute air bubble inclusions inherent in the making, only visible when examining the vase with a strong light from the interior and not at all visually detracting. The exterior with a few light and fine surface scratches only visible under very close inspection. With some very light surface soiling on the vase interior. The exterior of the top decorated collar is beautifully iridized, imparting the collar with strong luminosity and a range of brilliant hues. The vase interior is cased in white, further heightening the rich saturated coloration of the exterior. When viewed with strong reflective light, the vase appears a true "Samian" blood red hue, which is deeper and more saturated than seen in the catalogue illustration. A superb example displaying elegant form, extraordinary color and exceptionally articulated decoration on the top collar. When seen in person, the top collar displays meticulously rendered linear decoration with a stronger color contrast than seen in the catalogue illustration, and the bands at the top and bottom of the collar are a striking iridized chartreuse green.
