Condition
This somewhat warm-toned early contact print is on smooth double-weight paper with a faint surface sheen. It is in generally very good condition. There is a tear along the right margin that extends into the image ¾ of an inch. The black margin edges are lightly worn and the corners are bumped or creased. As is characteristically seen in Abbott's 'Changing New York' prints from the period, there are small clamp impressions in the black margins from processing.
The reverse of the print is appropriately age-darkened and lightly soiled. It is annotated in ink:
'Allen Street, #55-57 / Manhattan / Neg 208 Code III A15 / 2/11/37.'
