Condition

This early contact print, on smooth double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally very good condition. The right edge of the image is warm-toned. Soiling is visible upon close examination in the upper sky-area and in the lower portion of the image. As is characteristically seen in Abbott's 'Changing New York' prints from the period, there are small clamp impressions in the black margins from processing. The margin corners are bumped. The reverse of the print is appropriately age-darkened and lightly soiled from handling. The 'Changing New York' caption stamp on the reverse is annotated in ink with the following information: Title: 'Broadway And Thomas St.' Place: 'Manhattan' Neg. # '71' Code: 'IA3' Date: 'Mar 6, 1936'
