Catalogue Note
Félix Vallotton hat lediglich vier Bronzeplastiken geschaffen. Es handelt sich dabei um stehende weibliche Figuren mit den Titeln "Jeunesse", "Femme retenant sa chemise", "Femme à la cruche" und "Jeune mère". Die vorliegende Bronze mit ihrer bräunlichen Patina ist ein wunderbares Beispiel zum Thema „Jeune mère“. Dargestellt ist eine junge Mutter, die ihr Neugeborenes zärtlich in ihren Armen hält. Eine wunderbare intime und zugleich berührende Darstellung.
Félix Vallotton made merely four bronzes. All of them are standing female figures titled "Jeunesse", "Femme retenant sa chemise", "Femme à la cruche" and "Jeune mère". The present bronze with its brownish patina is a wonderful example to the theme "Jeune mère", which depicts a young mother holding her new-born baby tenderly in her arms. This sculpture is a marvellous, intimate and at the same time touching image.
