Description

  • silver, enamel, tempera, panel
  • height 9cm, 3 1/2 in.
the raised basma and halo with shaded scrolling flowerheads on olive grounds, the oklad of pale salmon with cloison scrolls, the saint painted on metal, 88 standard

Condition

Three of the corner mounts slightly loose, one more than the others. A few small losses and cracking to the enamel at two of the corner mounts. A small area of enamel loss to one leaf in the halo. The painted surface of the icon with flaked losses throughout, particularly to the forehead and robe.
