Acquired by the grandfather of the present owner in Munich in 1934

Condition

Original canvas which is buckling slightly in the lower right corner. There are two small patches visible on the reverse. There are frame abrasions with associated paint loss along all four edges. It appears that the canvas was previously on a slightly smaller stretcher and there are lines visible where the canvas was folded in the past. There is a layer of surface dirt. Inspection under UV reveals two small areas of retouching corresponding to the aforementioned patches on the reverse, as well as along the edges. Held in a gold painted wooden frame with plaster moulding. Unexamined out of frame.
