Condition

Original canvas. There is a layer of light surface dirt. There is a small dent to the grey background above the boy's head, with some corresponding paint loss, and a few older areas of paint losses in places. UV light reveals a line of retouching running horizontally from the left edge in line with the boy's face. Held in a black and gold wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
