Condition

Pile ranges from near original, approx 1/6th of an inch most in areas of border to low to knotheads. Oxidized dark browns exposing areas of foundation. Some scattered foldwear, some with Kashmir repiling. Some scattered spot stains. Lower end with losses and fraying to outer guard border, as visible in catalogue illustration. Now secured with loose binding stitch and two repaired reverse foldwear slits. Upper end mostly intact, with minor losses to outer guardborder and guardstripe. Sides with original madder selvages. Flexible handle, sound fabric and condition. Will enhance with cleaning and some restoration to ends. Please note that a license may be required to export textiles, rugs and carpets of Iranian origin from the United States. Clients should enquire with the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regarding export requirements.
