Condition
Two French tapestry vertical border fragments. Virtually identical. Slight differences at top and bottom depending on where cut across the design. There are small areas of repair to both, especially in the indigo areas above and below the central architectural strapwork motifs. Both still have old silks to the highlights of some of the flowers. Some minor oxidisation and repair to the areas of dark brown (commensurate with age), and some areas rewoven with darker black. Lined and with modern machine made outer selvedges. Both need Velcro added if need for hanging in the future.
Verdure fragment, is decorative and a versatile size. It has a strip across the lower section of repair across the width of the panel, and varies in height between 9 & 12cm.
Small round areas of repair in the foreground. Lined with linen style backing, and have modern machine made outer selvedges. Lined with blue cotton, with hessian band and hoops. Velcro added if need for hanging in the future.
All have been restored in the past. They are all decorative and in stable and usable condition.
