Two lithographs printed in black, gray and yellow, 1897, the first, one of only four known impressions of Wittrock's first state, the second an impression from the bookcover edition of unknown size, the first on Japan paper, the second on Japan linen-backed paper, the second published by La Revue Blanche, Paris, framed (2 prints)
Condition
The first state: The print is in good condition with wide margins. Uneven discoloration throughout and time-stain at the extreme sheet edges. Additional minor imperfections include occasional soft-handling creases, a fox mark in the bottom left corner of the image and a crease in the top right corner of the sheet measuring 3 1/4 inches.
The second state: The print is in good condition except the sheet was trimmed by 1/4 inch vertically (cutting off part of the lettering at the top of the sheet) and 1/2 inch horizontally. The sheet is unevenly discolored with light- and mat-stain. A vertical folding crease in the center of the sheet (as issued) with surface soiling. Two white diagonal lines in the center of the sheet, the largest 3 inches long.
