The book comprising two drypoints, Head of a Woman and From Åsgårdstrand, 1907, each print signed in pencil, also signed on the title page and dedicated 'Til Rolf Stenersen venligst', numbered 218, from the first edition of 400, on wove paper, published by Bruno Cassirer, Berlin, in the original paper wrappers, contained in green leather and paper boards and slipcase

Condition

In good condition, with full margins, a soft diagonal crease across the lower sheet corner, very pale scattered foxing in the margins of the second plate, a single fox mark in the margin of the first, the wrappers attenuated, and discolored at the edges, the front cover detached, occasional stains, creases and tears at the edges.

Catalogue Note

Rolf Stenersen, a noted Norwegian track and field Olympian, was a friend, advocate and biographer of Edvard Munch.  Stenersen amassed one of the largest private collections of Munch’s work through the 1920s and 30s, largely located today in the Stenersen Museum in Oslo.
