The complete portfolio, comprising 101 etchings including the covers, with text by Jean de La Fontaine, 1952, signed in black ink on the justification, numbered VI, one of 15 hors commerce copies reserved for the collaborators and aside from the total edition of 200, loose (as issued), on BFK Rives paper, published by Tériade, Paris, contained in the original paper wrappers, grey paper-covered boards, lacking the slipcase

Condition

With full margins, in good condition apart from pale paper discoloration towards the sheet edges, approx. half of the prints slightly toned overall, an infrequent fox mark in a few of the sheet margins, three plates with pale light-staining and adhesive remains along the upper sheet edge recto, occasional soft creasing in the deckle. Graphite numbers in the lower right margin of each plate and on the Liste des Fables. The boards splitting at the spine at top and bottom, occasional scuff marks and minor surface soiling.
