Description

- 'THE CARD PLAYERS'
- 6 lGelatin silver prints
a sequence of 6 photographs, the last signed, titled, and annotated 'Family of Man' in ink in the margin, each numbered sequentially and the last signed in pencil and stamped on the reverse, 1947, probably printed in the 1970s (Ruth Orkin, pp. 14-15; The Family of Man, p. 40) (6)
Condition
These somewhat warm-toned prints, on glossy double-weight paper, are in generally very good condition. Upon close examination, occasional tiny matte deposits and pin-point-sized impressions that do not appear to break the emulsion are visible overall. There is some rippling to all of the prints.
On the reverse of print #6 are the following stamps in red ink: 'This print must be returned to' [with directional arrow in blue ink] and 'Ruth Orkin / 65 Central Park West / New York City 10023 / EN 2-1658.'
