Description
- Margaret Bourke-White
- 'A DC-4 FLYING OVER NEW YORK CITY'
- gelatin silver print
embossed signature stamp in the margin, credit, title, date, copyright, edition 'artist's proof #1,' and annotations in pencil and the LIFE Gallery of Photography/Estate of Margaret Bourke-White stamp on the reverse, framed, 1939, printed in 1999
Condition
This print is in generally excellent condition. In raking light, a crescent-shaped crease in the right portion of the image is visible. This does not appear to break the emulsion. There is a small area of faint staining in the left margin, which is slightly rippled.
The reverse is annotated in an unidentified hand in pencil: 'Print Made in the Time Life Photo Lab, 1999.' The stamp on the reverse reads as follows:
'Limited Edition Print Issued by:
LIFE Gallery of Photography
In association with the Estate of Margaret Bourke-White'
