Condition
These photographs are in generally excellent condition. Each photograph is trimmed to the image, and there is very minor wear and chipping to the edges and corners. The mounts are lightly sunned at the periphery of the prints and show occasional soiling. When examined under ultraviolet light, these prints do not appear to fluoresce.
'An American Place - Window, Worktable with Books' (c. 1945) - Along the upper edge of the mount is a long strip of linen tape. On the reverse of the mount, 'DN 325' and 'DN.015' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil.
'An American Place - 1930s, Phone, Shadow, Stieglitz Equivalent in Background' (c. 1940) - The print is lifting from the mount along the upper and lower edges. The tip of the upper left corner is bumped and creased. Along the upper edge of the mount is a long strip of linen tape. On the reverse of the mount, 'DN 1229c' and 'DN.008' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil. This photograph is accompanied by a frame backboard with a typed Norton Center at Centre College, Danville, exhibition label.
'An American Place - Georgia O'Keeffe Painting with Light Bulb' (c. 1936) - When this print is examined closely, 2 small faint scratches and 2 deposits of indeterminate nature are visible in the upper-central portion of the image. There is a small abrasion to the upper left corner of the mount. On the reverse of the mount, 'AC 25' and 'DN.009' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil. This photograph is accompanied by a frame backboard with a typed Norton Center at Centre College, Danville, exhibition label.
