Condition

This print, on paper with a deckled edge, is in generally excellent condition. The sheet measures 11 by 15 inches. The annotations in pencil on the reverse of the print as are follows: 'NEG V'; ' platinum-palladium print made January 1976'; and 'no more than 45 original prints of this picture will ever be made.' The copyright stamp is dated '1975' in pencil. Penn's edition of 45 prints of this image comprises prints in two different size formats: prints in the format of the present photograph, and prints measuring approximately 18 by 22 inches. The provenance of this lot is as follows: Friends of Photography Benefit Auction, New York, 11 December 2007, Lot 74.
