This print has not been examined out of its frame, but it appears to be in generally excellent condition. It is floating within the frame, affixed to a white mount. In addition to the notations and robust handprint, there are spatters of red ink around the handprint, as well as a deposit of red ink at the lower edge in the margin. The notations by the photographer, in red ink, read as follows: '(infinity sign)'s to the one and only Nataleeee from Cassis and beyond, heartfelt Special Delivery as ever x x x Peter (Beard).' Various women who are pictured at the left side of the photograph have been identified by the photographer in red ink: 'Zora (star symbol) my neighbor in Langata NBi' and 'Malgosia.' Under the lion image at right is captioned and signed: 'Gorongoza irate lion Aug. 1955 (Peter Beard).' The ink annotation on the South Lake Framing Company, Montauk, label reads: 'Framed with heavy weathered doug. fir and white oak filet . . .12.08'
