Condition

This platinum print, on paper with a deckled edge, is in generally excellent condition. On the reverse, 'Subject - Ju/'hoansi Bushmen (Namibia)' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil.

Catalogue Note

The photographs offered in this and the following lot are from David Bruce’s twenty-five-year-long series surveying the Ju/’hoansi.  An indigenous people, the Ju/’hoansi ‘Bushmen’ currently live in the Nyae Nyae Conservancy, a protected region in Namibia.  In addition to photographing, Bruce is a founder of the Ju/’hoansi Development Fund, a grassroots organization that supports the Ju/'hoansi and their cultural environment.
