Condition

These prints are in generally excellent condition. There is minor wear to the margin corners on both prints. 'Mt. Rushmore,' 1969 - This print is numbered '96-16' and '76' in pencil on the reverse. There are linen tape remnants on the reverse. Also on the reverse, the following is written in an unidentified hand in pencil: 'L82.5.2, P-25, Lee Friedlander, Mt. Rushmore 1969.' 'Philadelphia,' 1965 - In raking light, faint silvering is visible in the dark areas at the edges. This print is numbered '28-1' and '70' in pencil on the reverse. The reverse is very lightly soiled. Also on the reverse, the following is written in an unidentified hand in pencil: 'L82.5.1-P-25, Lee Friedlander, Philadelphia, 1965.' According to 'A Note on the Prints' in the Museum of Modern Art's catalogue for Friedlander's retrospective, prints in this size were usually made in the early- to mid-1970s.
