Condition

This photograph, on single-weight paper with a semi-glossy surface, is in generally very good condition. As is typical of Brandt's early printing, this print has very thin margins along the upper, left and right edges, and a wider, approximately 1/2-inch, margin along the lower edge. In high raking light, signs of handling, including small soft creases and a few scratches and linear indentations that do not break the emulsion, are visible overall. These do not detract in any way from the fine appearance of this early print. The small crease in the upper left corner appears to break the emulsion. The left and right edges are rippled, and there is minor rubbing and wear to the margin edges and corners. The reverse of the print is clean. 'II' is written in pencil in an unidentified hand in the lower left corner. When examined under ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
