Description

  • Jacques-Henri Lartigue
  • RENÉE PERLE IN A WHITE DRESS
  • gelatin silver print
framed, an Irving Galleries, Palm Beach, label on the reverse, 1930-31

Condition

This early, warm-toned print, on double-weight paper with a slight surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. The print has thin margins, except at the lower edge, where it is trimmed to the image; there is very minor chipping at the lower edge. The corners are slightly creased, and there is an overall wave to the paper. The reverse is lightly soiled, particularly at the corners. Also on the reverse, 'NY-JHL-014' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil. When examined under ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce. The Irving Galleries label on the reverse of the frame indicates that the negative was made 1930-31, and this print was made 1930-32.
