- 2 gelatin silver prints
2 photographs, comprising 'New York City' and Sunday in an Alley (Chicago), the first mounted, signed in pencil on the mount, titled and dated in pencil and with the credit and reproduction rights stamps on the reverse, the second with the Lunn Gallery stamp on the reverse, each framed, 1933 and 1946, printed later (2)
Condition
These two prints are in generally excellent condition.
'New York City' - This print is mounted to thick white board. There is very minute chipping at the corners of the print. On the reverse of the mount are the following annotations in an unidentified hand in pencil: 'JD,' '55,' 'New York City,' '1955 [crossed out],' 'PF 18447,' 'GT 163-4.' The reverse is soiled, and there is adhesive residue in the lower right corner.
Sunday in an Alley (Chicago) - In raking light, a small scratch in the lower right portion is visible; this does not appear to break the emulsion. The margin corners and edges are creased and lightly worn. On the reverse, the Lunn Gallery stamp is annotated 'XV' and '61' in an unidentified hand in pencil. Also on the reverse, '#5" is written in an unidentified hand in pencil. The reverse is lightly soiled.
When examined under ultraviolet light, these prints appear to fluoresce.
