Condition

This photograph, on lightly textured double-weight paper with a sheen, is in generally excellent condition. It is somewhat warm in the sky area, while the highlights remain neutral overall. In raking light, a few deposits of original retouching and tiny impressions that do not break the emulsion are visible. There is insignificant wear to the margin edges and the tips of the corners are bumped or creased. There are small clamp impressions in the margin corners. On the reverse of the print, the 'Changing New York' caption stamp is annotated in colored pencil with the following information: Title: '"El" Station, Ninth Avenue Lines' Place: 'Christopher and Greenwich Streets, Manhattan' Neg. # '137' Code: 'II.A.2.F.2' Date: 'June 18, 1936'
