Condition

This photograph, on double-weight paper with a textured surface and slight sheen, is in generally excellent condition. Uneven silvering is visible in raking light in the dark areas of the image and in the black margins. The margin edges are lightly worn, with resultant insignificant chipping, and the corners are rubbed. There are 2 small clamp impressions in the right margin. The reverse of the print is slightly age-darkened at its periphery. On the reverse of the print, the 'Changing New York' caption stamp is annotated in colored pencil with the following information: Title: 'Rope Store' Place: 'South Street And James Slip' Neg. # '68' Code: 'III.C.3' Date: 'Feb. 5, 1936'
