Catalogue Note

The multi-talented Jerry Schatzberg studied under the legendary designer Alexey Brodovitch, and photographed fashion and the famous for Vogue, LIFE, Esquire, and Glamour in the 1950s and 1960s.  He met Bob Dylan during the recording session for Highway 61 Revisited and photographed him onstage and off, providing Dylan's cover portrait for his classic Blonde On Blonde LP.

Schatzberg is also a filmmaker and is best known for Panic in Needle Park, with Al Pacino in his first starring role, and Scarecrow, with Pacino and Gene Hackman.
