Catalogue Note
The images in Sebastião Salgado's Genesis project (see also Lot 150) are the result of an eight-year expedition by the photographer to document the cultures, landscapes, and wildlife that have successfully eluded modern influence and destruction, remaining as they have existed for centuries.
