Condition

As is typical of Brandt's early photographs, this print is on single-weight paper with a semi-glossy surface. Brandt left an approximately one-inch white border at the bottom only. Also typical of his early printing style, this well-rendered image is relatively low in contrast - in the 1960s and continuing into the 1970s, Brandt printed his images with progressively higher contrast. This early print is in generally excellent condition. Visible only upon extremely close examination in high raking light are tiny impressions that do not break the emulsion, as well as 2 very soft linear raised areas, possibly creases, in the upper and lower portion of the image. There is an Andrew Roth, Inc., label on the reverse of the frame.
