Condition
The canvas has been relined, however from inspection on the reverse the lining canvas appears to be a loose lining in places rather than being fully attached all over. Under ultra-violet light the varnish fluoresces somewhat unevenly, and a number of areas of retouching notably in much of the sky between the large tree and upper-right corner, in and around the treetrunk, in part of the foliage, and a number of smaller areas and scattered spots of retouching in the sky in the upper-left quadrant of the composition. The overall appearance of the work under normal light is good and it is ready to hang.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame, with a nameplate and a cloth-covered inner slip.
