Condition
The canvas has not been lined, and is slightly undulating and could benefit from re-tensioning. There is a pattern of hairline craquelure. Under ultra-violet light the thick varnish fluoresces evenly and quite opaquely, and some areas of retouching are visible notably a circa 4 by 6cm and a 3 by 4cm area in the figure's dress, a number of strokes in the background above and to the left of the figure and in the foliage and green vase, and some thin strokes addressing craquelure.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
