Provenance

Acquired by the family of the present owner in Chicago, circa 1920. 

Condition

The copper plate is flat. the paint surface is stable and there are no areas of lifting or loss. overall there is excellent retention of the paint surface with lovely detail and coloration. examination under UV reveals a diagonal line of retouching at upper right corner and some along extreme edges. the figures and architecture look very good with only one or two tiny, minor retouches. this painting can be hung as is.
