Condition

The old wax relining is firm and stable. the paint surface has been quite well retained and has been only slightly pressed in the relining. detail remains very good throughout, especially in the foliage and foreground. examination under UV light shows retouchings in sky- some are very small in the form of inpaints to craquelure and others are larger. there are several larger areas at upper center, two of which appear to be along two repaired horizontal tears. another larger area of retouching can be seen at upper right corner. the foliage areas look good. a few small retouches to tree trunk of large tree at right side, and a few in foreground along lower edge. for a painting of this size, it has survived well. painting is presentable and can be hung as is. In a brown wood frame with black trim.
