The canvas has been redlined, the process of which has caused degree of flattening to the paint surface. The support and paint surface are stable and secure. The varnish is clear and there are no major damages or restorations visible to the naked eye, but a degree of wear throughout. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals two small old repaired tears, one L shaped in the trees top right, one at the lower central margin, neither measuring more than 3 inches. A few other scattered retouchings and strengthenings are visible. The varnish appears milky and opaque under UV light but there does appear to be a second, earlier campaign of retouchings underneath, the extent of which is hard to gauge. In fair condition.
