Condition

The canvas has a recent relining and the paint layer is secure and even. There are some discoloured retouchings in teh background but nothing so much that they interrupt the overall even surface. The colours and details of the music score and the hands are well- preserved. There is no loss of paint or flaking. Inspection under UV light reveals some retouchings in the background, a small area to the right of the lips and three lines to the right of the nose. A further repaired small area of damage in the lower right corner. This lot is sold in a plain wooden frame, with scratches, in good strutural condition.
