Circle of Frans Pourbus the Younger

Crackle and slight flaking all over paint surface, most apparent on hands and in upper right background. The splits dividing the three boards are visible and have been retouched in the lower quarter. The left divide is also visibloe and has been repainted in the upper half. There is a very slight concave curve on the left hand panel. Around 1 cm deep there are damages to the wood and paint, caused by the frame but covered when framed. Re-touching has been used extensively in the background and on the right shoulder of the sitter. A milky glaze has been applied leaving smudges over the background. However, the face and hands are in their original condition and have not been afected too much by the varnish.
