The canvas has a firm and stable relining. The painting is now dirty and the varnish layer very yellowed. The picture is in very good overall condition, with no signs of any major damages or repairs. There are a few very small repaired damages in the sky upper left, but otherwise restoration is chiefly confined to strengthening to outlines and shadows in and around many of the foreground figures, notably lower left, and to the branches of the trees above them. Offered in a later parcel gilt and veneered wood frame in good condition.
