The panel is uncradled and has developed a slight convex bow. The paint surface appears in very good overall condition, but with some very slight signs of lifting upper right. Some areas, such as the falconer, have been very thinly painted and may have suffered a little from wear. Ultra-violet light reveals a small repaired damage on the left margin and some repair in the lower right corner, but otherwise only very minor scattered retouchings. Offered with a later gilt wood frame in good condition.
