Condition

The painting is in very good overall condition. The canvas has an old relining and the paint surface is now dirty and the varnish layer somewhat yellowed. Only a few scattered old discoloured repairs are visible, mostly around the margins and background, including a small repaired vertical 3 cm tear upper centre. No major damages or repairs are visible and overall the paint surface appears very well preserved, although the thickness of the varnish does impede inspection under ultra-violet to a degree. Offered with a much later gilt wood frame in good condition.
