Condition

The canvas has an old firm relining, the paint surface is clean and appears to be in excellent overall condition with much of the original impasto in evidence. The painting has fairly recently been cleaned and restoration is limited to one tiny L shaped repaired tear in the boys left arm which is patched on the reverse and sensitively retouched.
