Condition

Window mounted. There are some areas of discoloration to the four edges in particular to the upper right corner. There are some scattered stains and foxing although generally the medium is fresh.

Catalogue Note

The counterproof on the verso shows the after part of the English second rate, Neptune, built in 1683.  The late Michael Robinson suggested that the wash on the recto could have been added by Charles Gore.
