Condition

Executed on a sheet of grey-brown unstretched canvas, the left and upper borders not part of the composition and covered by the mat. The composition area is slightly lighter and warmer in tone than the covered borders. Apart from a small stain just above the ground near the left edge of the composition, and some scattered tiny white spots along the extreme upper edge of the composition (possibly traces of old adhesive), this work is in good overall condition. Presented framed and glazed. For any questions regarding this lot please contact Richard Lowkes in the 19th Century European Paintings department on 020 7293 5477.
