Condition

The sheet is not laid down and is instead attached to the backboard along the upper edge. There is some unevenness and discolouration in the lower left and right corners probably relating to previous adhesive on the reverse. Apart from some light even time-staining to the sheet and a few faint scattered spots of foxing this work is in good overall condition. Presented framed and glazed, the edges of the sheet covered by the mat and not visible framed. This drawing is dated by Maurice Arama to the second half of Delacroix's trip to Morocco, so betweeen mid-April and 10 June 1832.
