Condition

Overall condition reasonably good. Wash very slightly sunk in a few places in upper parts of drawing. A little surface dirt and light staining at edges. Sold in a modern gilded frame.

Catalogue Note

This is the preparatory drawing for plate 9, Der wilde Schwan, in a set of 22 prints of similar sporting subjects, engraved by Ridinger after his own designs, and published under the title Die von verschidenen Arthen der Hunden behaezte Jagtbare Thiere, in Augsburg in 1761.1
