Description

  • wood, abalone
in a seated position, the front paws resting on the distended abdomen, the head carved with mouth slighly open, flaring nostrils, wide-set pointed oval eye rims inset with circular plaques of abalone shell beneath arching brows, and raised semi-circular ears; remains of red vermilion and black pigments.

Condition

Very good original condition with minor wear associated with age. Nice patina. There appears to be a bit residue on the underside, perhaps glue from a stand?
