Catalogue Note

Imperato (1550-1625) was an apothecary in Naples who created a museum of natural history specimens, which was much admired by visiting scholars. This catalogue of his collection was first published in Naples in 1599, and this enlarged edition contains sections on mining and alchemy as well as botany and zoology.
