Catalogue Note

RARE FIRST EDITION of this exposition of the alchemical thoughts of Geber and Lullius. There is some confusion over the identity of this author. The title-page states Ewald Vogel, but in the seventeenth century it was considered a pseudonym for Theobaldus van Hoghelande, the author of De alchemiae difficultatibus (also printed in Cologne by Falckenburg in 1594; Mellon 51), which was published under his own name.
