Catalogue Note

FIRST EDITION. Some copies of this edition have an incipit ascribing authorship to Alexander of Hales, not present in this copy; the second edition, printed by Koberger in 1498, ascribes authorship to Hugo de Sancto Caro. The de Nallis brothers had obtained a Venetian privilege for the printing of all the as-yet unpublished biblical commentaries of both authors on 18 August 1496.
