Catalogue Note

A charming volume of illustrations of contemporary crafts and costumes, with verses by Hartmann Schopper; an edition with the text in German by Hans Sachs was published the same year. Of particular interest are the series of vignettes depicting the various stages of bookmaking, from the parchment- and paper-makers to the typefounder, engraver and bookbinder.
