Catalogue Note

A description of the celebrations that followed the birth of Francesco II d'Este (1660-1694), who became duke of Modena at the tender age of two. The poet Graziani (1604-1675) was part of the Este court in Modena for most of his adult life, and he composed numerous festival pieces for the court.
