Catalogue Note

This is the only breviary for Brussels that is listed by Bohatta. It does not contain all quires as listed by Bohatta, as some of the sections for summer and winter would duplicate each other. The collation of this copy is as follows:

+8 a-d8 e4; aa-nn8 oo4; red A-G8 red H6; red D8 (end of pars aestivalis); red aa8 red bb6; A-B8 C6; AA-HH8 (colophon); A-L8 M10. Bohatta specifies that there should be A-B8 C6 and red A-D8 for each part, but they only occur once in this volume.

St Gudule is one of the patron saints of Brussels. At this time, Brussels was part of the archdiocese of Cambrai.
